Rooms are still available at the two downtown hotels. Here's a quick update:
Hilton Garden Inn--The hotel is no longer holding a block of rooms for the wedding, but they will give you the discounted room rate ($129) as long as rooms are available; when you make your reservation, say, "We're part of the Crossen/Howard wedding, and Tanya said that we get the $10 discount on rooms" or something like that. Tanya is the Sales Manager. (UPDATE: WE'VE HEARD ABOUT AN EVEN CHEAPER RATE HERE THAT INCLUDES BREAKFAST. SO, IT MAY BE CHEAPER TO GO WITH SOMETHING OTHER THAN THE WEDDING RATE.)
Candlewood Suites--This hotel is one block from the Hilton Garden Inn and has some pretty cheap fares online, around $90/night.

Registry!
We have put together wedding registries and begun adding items to them. Below are three links that will guide you to our wedding registries:
Alternative Gift Registry
Sears This registry is available online and in the store. The online version can be difficult to use. If the registry is being difficult, but you want to buy something off this list anyway (from Sears or another store), just send an e-mail to one of our parents or post a comment on this blog (click the word comment below, and make your profile "anonymous"), and we will find a way to note it on the registry without knowing who bought the gift. Sorry for the confusion.
Crate & Barrel
Also, please note that all of our registries are set up to ship items to:

Two months!

As of yesterday, the wedding is officially two months away. We have been hard at work putting everything together (and by that I mean that Emma and her lovely sister Abby have been hard at work), and we have a great weekend planned for everyone. Many thanks go out to Abby for designing the lovely invitations!
In the next few days we will post to the blog more information about the additional wedding weekend activities and some registry information. Please check back!

Haute-ward Bound
Hi everyone,
We know that for many of our friends a trip into the heart of the heart of the country will be rather disorienting and perhaps even frightening and upsetting (Yes, we haveStarbucks . No, it's not like 'Children of the Corn.'). We wanted to ease the transition by laying out some information in advance of the weekend.
We encourage folks to stay the whole weekend, if they are able. We know many people will be traveling some distance to attend, and we want to make it worth your trip. We'll have events planned for the duration of the weekend, from Friday evening through Monday morning. The ceremony and reception will be Sunday afternoon/early evening.Emma and I will be in Terre Haute for the duration of the weekend and look forward to visiting with everyone!
The closest and most convenient airport to Terre Haute is the Indianapolis airport. It's an hour drive from Terre Haute, and serviced by all the major airlines. If transportation is a problem from the airport, please let us know and we can arrange transportation for you.
If you are unfamiliar with Terre Haute, and especially if you won't have a car, we encourage you to stay in a hotel downtown. In fact, we encourage you to stay downtown anyway and enjoy our favorite part of Terre Haute, with local restaurants, pubs, yarn shops, museums, bowling allies, and a university campus, all within walking distance. We have reserved discounted rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn for $119. The Candlewood Suites, located on the same block, is largely booked that weekend for a corporate event so we were unable to reserve discounted rooms, but there may be rooms available.
There are many other hotels in Terre Haute, but the majority are clustered around the exit ramp of I-70 and very inconvenient to access if you don't have a car. We reserved a block of discounted rooms at the Hampton Inn at the I-70 exit (not downtown) for $84 a night. (Click here for a direct link to the online reservation page that is set-up to provide this discounted price. The reservation form already includes the group/convention code, "CHW", for our wedding weekend.)
We will have more information up here in the coming weeks. Till then, please know how excited we are to see all of you in a few short months, and how thrilled we are to show off our home town.
Best,
Andy (andEmma)
